This loop takes in a lot of KCFC. It takes you up the forest on smaller trails then down on the slightly wider the red road (which is called this because when it was first laid it was very red from the clay). Because it’s a loop you can do it both ways and see what works for you but I prefer clockwise as it means I’m going slow, uphill when I’m on narrow tracks which walkers and dogs are most likely to be on.

Directions
Start by going up the forest path by Kyles court, taking it to the pond. Then go right then left all the way up to a crossroads where the thin path crosses over a larger track. Keep on the small track over a small ford. Eventually this track will turn to gravel and get a bit narrower which will take you to a turning area and a bench. Here turn full right then take the first right down the red road. Following it till it gets to a junction. Here turn right then left. This track will take you back to the start.
Want to switch it up a bit? Here’s a detour:
A smaller forest loop
This detour takes you behind the reservoir dam which powers the hydro. The path for so long ended at the end of the dam but recently a bridge was put in making it a loop!

Just after the track turns to gravel take first the right. This takes you down behind the reservoir and to a bridge over the river. This joins onto the red road where you turn right.
