Friday walk

This route harkens back to COVID when we did this every Friday. Most of it is easily cyclable with the exception of the path between the track and Ostal bay. If you don’t want to cycle along the beach you can always take the first left after the bridge to go along the back of the beach. There’s a Geocache just along the beach from where you leave called, ‘Ostal beach’ GCDD79 which is always worth a visit.

Directions

Starting at Milhouse go along the first track on the left after the houses. Keep left here and continue on until you get to a small path on the left with a few stones marking it’s turnoff. This will lead you to Ostal bay along a path which you might need to walk along. This takes you out at a bridge where you can either turn right and go along the beach or go left along the grass path till you get to the path up to the road Follow this until you get back to Millhouse.

Want to switch it up a bit? Here’s a detour:

Friday walk beach

If it’s gonna be really busy at Ostal bay and you want a quieter beach then this could be for you. It’s more of an offshoot than a detour because you’ve got to go back the way you came. It takes you out on a beach which you can only get to by boat or this path. The last bit of it would be hard with a bike because there’s some rocks branches and but it’s easy enough to walk. It’s also the best way to get the geocache ‘Sgat beag’ GC89G19, which is on a tidal island and I can highly recommend! Although check the tide times before to stay dry.
