Meldaloch meander

This is quite a straight forwards cycle but still quite lengthy, especially as you’ve go to go back the way you came. It takes you right down to the beach where there’s some amazing camping as well as quite often a load of seals. If its good weather I’d recommend camping down there, especially as waking up by the sea is the best feeling ever. While a good amount of the route is on road, most of that is an almost deserted gravel track.

Directions

Follow the power dams loop till you get to the road after the dams. Here turn right for quite a while taking the first road turn off on the left. Follow this and it’ll eventually get gravelier and steeper. You’ll pass the Meldaloch holiday cottages but don’t turn into there. The road will take you to a crossroads where you go right, staying on this track to some ruins where it turns to a path to the sea. You can also take the 2nd right turn here to get down to the beach.
